About Walter E. Johnson, P.E., C.G.

Walter ("Walt") Johnson is a geophysical engineer with a career spanning more than five decades in exploration, development, and seismic technology innovation. He has served as Exploration Manager, Chief Geophysicist, and Senior Staff Geophysicist for major operators including Amoco, Husky Oil, Coastal Oil & Gas, and ANR Production Company.

Since founding Exploration Geo Consultants, Inc., Walt has focused primarily on advanced seismic interpretation and reservoir characterization, helping clients identify naturally fractured reservoirs and reduce exploration risk.

A graduate of the Colorado School of Mines, Walt is both a Registered Professional Engineer and Certified Geologist, and has authored more than twenty technical papers on seismic methods and fracture detection.

Beyond his consulting practice, Walt is the producer of the documentary, A Climate Conversation, a project dedicated to fostering constructive discussion around climate science, energy policy, and the path forward. His work reflects a commitment to bridging scientific expertise with public understanding.

A Climate Conversation is a feature documentary that takes viewers beyond the usual headlines to explore the science, data, and questions surrounding climate change in clear, accessible terms. Hosted by radio personality Kim Monson and featuring interviews with scientists and experts, the film aims to cut through political spin and confusion to foster an honest dialogue about Earth’s changing climate — examining historical temperature trends, CO₂’s role, claims of scientific consensus, and the costs and implications of proposed energy transitions. Grounded in empirical discussion rather than fear-driven rhetoric, the documentary invites audiences to reevaluate assumptions and engage thoughtfully with one of the most debated issues of our time.
